Barcelona have been hit with injury scare after Ousmane Dembele suffered a fresh injury that will see him miss out of action for the rest of the season.
The brilliant attacker was recovering from a hamstring injury which ruled him out since November when he complained of pain in his right leg during the training session.
It was later discovered that the 22-year-old might have lost his leg to fatigue in the course of rediscovery from the hamstring scare.
And it has now been announced that he will be on the sideline till the end of the year, plunging Barcelona coach Quique Setien into a big difficulty.
earlier lost one of their hitmen Luis Suarez to injury, with the Uruguayan set to spend four months on the sideline.
Suarez suffered the injury in Barcelona’s Super Cup defeat against rivals Atletico Madrid where Diego Simeone’s side came back from 2-1 down to win 3-2.
The Uruguayan striker underwent an operation on his knee in January and Barcelona later confirmed that he would be out for four months.
With the January transfer closed, Setien has been forced to look for alternative attacking options from Team B, with reports claiming that at least ten players from the second string took part in training with the senior side.
The Catalans were linked with Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but failed to lure the Gabonese to Camp Nou.
Barcelona are second on the La Liga table, three-points behind arch-rivals Real Madrid.
