Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Bids Emotional Farewell To His Grandmother Following Her Passing

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has posted an emotional message on Instagrma after the passing of his grandmother.

The Gabon international uploaded a series of images, including tear-jerking picture of him giving his grandma a kiss as she lay in her hospital bed.

He also posed with his children and his grandmother, who had an Arsenal shirt placed on her.

He posted: “One last smile that showed you were the nicer. One last trip to your village which I was happy to be with you.

“You gave me so much love you learned me so many things i speak Spanish because of you.

“I am proud to be your Little son. One last kiss to tell you good bye.”

Earlier this week, he revealed why he chose to play for Gabon, having been born in France to a Spanish mother.

“Players often take their time to consider their options and make the right choice, but for me the choice was clear,” he said,

“I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps. He was captain of the national side in the past.

“I could well have chosen to play for Spain or France. I played for the French under-21 team, but I realised very quickly that in my heart I wanted to emulate my father.”

Aubameyang joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January and has a mixed time of things at the Emirates.

He has however scored three goals in five Premier League games, including a strike on his debut against Everton.

Arsenal are back in action after the international break against Stoke City.

Arsenal close to sealing a move for £35m rated attacker as Mesut Ozil’s replacement

Arsenal have reportedly launched a bid for PSV Eindhoven attacker Hirving Lozano according to SunSport.

The Mexican forward has been in superb form for his Dutch League side this campaign – scoring 11 goals and assisting six others in 17 topflight matches.

Gunners boss Unai Emery has however made the 23-year-old a major target as replacement for out-of-favour star Mesut Ozil.

According to SunSport quoting TMW, the north Londoners will have to cough out more than £35 million to sign him this month.

The publication also reveals that PSV might consider about £27 million with add-ons if clubs come knocking on their door in the summer.

Napoli were in pole position to land the star forward due to their relationship with the Dutch side and the player’s agent Mino Raiola, giving them an edge in negotiations.

The German midfielder was said to have been offered to AC Milan but former Gunners chief Ivan Gazidis rejected the move.

Ozil is surplus to requirement in Emery’s squad at the Emirates, and has even allegedly told Ozil that it would be best for him to leave the club.

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez is reportedly edging closer to joining the Gunners after “positive talks” held between the two clubs.

The Gunners were also thought to be interested in signing former Real Madrid star James Rodriguez on a cut-price £3 million loan move.
