2019 Election: What Atiku Told Emir Sanusi In Kano

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has stated that traditional rulers have a role to play in nation building.

The former Vice President made this known when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II on Sunday.

Atiku said he was in the palace to seek for the blessings and prayers of the emirate council.

Atiku also prayed for peace, unity, and stability in the country.‎

Speaking, the Emir of Kano advised Nigerians ‎to eschew negative acts to ensure peaceful voting in the forthcoming general elections.

”Election is not a war, there is no need to shed blood and there is need to caution and enlighten the public against violence,” he said.

As a father to all, I always preach peace; this is because no meaningful development can take place without peace.‎

”I urge eligible voters to vote for whoever that is competent and capable they think will take them to the promise land.”

Sanusi, who urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the elections, called for continuous prayers for peaceful elections in the country.

Sanusi also lauded Atiku for his contribution to education by building a befitting university in his hometown.

Understands that the PDP presidential flag bearer was accompanied to the palace by his running mate, Peter Obi, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus and Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Others are; former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali, former Cross River Governor, Liyel Imoke, former Minister of Power, Tanimu Turaki, Sen. Abdul Ningi, ‎Hajiya Baraka Umar and Kano PDP governorship candidate, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The man was reportedly caught in the act of stealing the money when he was caught. He got dragged out by church members who made sure they filmed him get disgraced.

When he he was questioned, he admitted to stealing the money but explained that he was tempted and should be pardoned.

It is not clear if he has been handed to the police yet or not.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally confirmed the postponement of the 2019 presidential election previous scheduled to hold today.

Report has it that the postponement late on Friday evening, although it was still unofficial at the time.

Briefing newsmen beginning from 2:43am, Professor Mahmud Yakubu said “proceeding with the election as scheduled is no longer feasible”.

Consequently, he said the presidential and National Assembly elections had been moved to February 23, 2019.

The governorship and state assembly elections were also moved by one week to March 9, 2019.

Laptops, Car Recovered As Five Yahoo Boys Are Arrested In Port-Harcourt.

peratives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 arrested five suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation.

Their arrest was based on intelligence reports of their alleged suspicious activities.

The suspects are: Emenike Ulu, Uchenna Samuel Nwogu, Kelvin Ogbonna, Richard Uduma and Collins George Isilabo.

They were all arrested at No.22 Alcon Estate, Liberty Street, Woji, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Items recovered from them include, one Toyota Highlander Jeep, five laptop computers, Internet modems, eight handsets, two hard drives, ATM cards, title documents, cheque books and two International Passports.
